Actually I think these incidents are confused

Siskin J8646 piloted by Flight- Sergeant Colin Scragg 365318 (later Air Vice-Marshal Sir Colin Scragg (36121) ) of 1 Sqn Tangmere
Crashed at Upwaltham on South Downs on this date. The machine cut a swath 70 yards long through the wood and finally turned turtle after felling a large tree. The pilot escaped with scratches only
