Default AFL Retired List from 1962/1963

Does someone have an AFL Retired List from around 1962-1963, please? Iím seeking the entry, and particularly the birth date, for one Bernard Walter UNDERWOOD, 183184, who relinquished his commission in the RAFVR GDB, retaining Flt. Lt., on 24 October 1962.

    Thanks

    Hello Steve
Looked in the 1976 Retired list and your man is not listed.

    Hi Andy

Thanks. I have him active in my 1960 AFL but, like you've found, he's a no-show in my 1973 Retired List, hence my hope that someone holds an older edition than mine.

    Cheers

So far as I know, if an officer "relinquishes his commission" in any particular service , then that is it; the end of your official involvement with that service. However if you are "retired" from the service then you end up (you guessed it) on the "Retired" List. I could be wrong, but that is my understanding of how the system works.

Hi David - Ah, yes, good point.

Hi Andy - Thanks for the offer, but from what David says, there won't be anything to find in an AFL, after all.

    Cheers
