Default Fighter cover on 17th July 1944 Mont Candon

    Hi,

Can anyone please tell me what fighter squadrons escorted the bombers of No.3 and 8 Group allocated the attack on Mont Candon on the early evening of July 17th 1944.

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards

    Hi,

Bump : Can only guess that the RAF did not escort this operation ?

Steve - the Form B for this operation just says "Fighter cover will be provided".

    Hi David,

That is correct, it was late evening, so I presume RAF. Not sure if the US 8th or 9th would have been involved, but escort was provided as I have details via a crew member who reported on them?

    Regards

    Steve
