Default Anyone good at Latin or Welsh?

Have found the emblems for 228 Squadron and Pembroke Dock but cant translate the Latin and Welsh - anyone know what they are? Latin was all Greek to me at School and my Welsh is limited even though I was bought up in Wales.

Dyan - still seeking families of Sunderland DW110

Do you mean the Squadron motto, Dyan?

228's motto was Auxilium a caelo - Help from the sky

And the motto of Pembroke docks was Gwylio'r Gorllewino'r Awyr - "Watching the west from the air."

    Default Thanks Amritt

thought you would know - the writing under the badge is not clear - now you have put it down it makes sense, also because of the book "No Help from the Skies"

Now heres the best one - Pembroke Dock" and it is not a typo: Gwylioe Gorllewin Orawyr - it seems to me to be "old Welsh" as I cant get anything out of it.

Once again you have come up trumps
