    YATES, Vivian Ashley - LAC - 1404251 - the Gloucester Citizen of Jaaury 2nd 1946 reports:

    NEWENT FUNERAL
    The funeral took place at Newent of Mr. Vivian Ashley Yates, aged 42 years, of 14, Belgrave Road, Gloucester, who died at the Gloucestershire Royal Infirmary on Thursday from the effects of an illness he contracted while serving in the R.A.F.
    Mr. Yates has been on the staff of the Redline-Glico Company for over 25 years, and prior to joining the R.A.F., was one of the representatives for the Company in the Gloucester area, where he was well-known.

    Hi, yes - he was discharged April 1945 due to ‘gastric ulcer attributable to war service’. His death certificate says he suffered from ‘cardiac failure, exhaustion, carcinoma of stomach’. His wife spent some time getting him registered as a war death, which involved her MP and newspapers.He is actually buried at Thames Ditton, not Dutton. I hope this helps.

    "1039683 AC2, McHALE, T.F was found hanging from a tree, approximately half a mile from the Domestic Camp. T.P.I. " . The date of this discovery is given as 28-12-1945
