    Default Training Command - OTU

    Hi,

A question about training command ...
The OTUs appear to have a main aerodrome, and secondary aerodromes.
It is quite difficult to identify them.
I search for the names of the secondary aerodromes (1941/43) for the
    19 OTU
    53 OTU
    56 OTU
    57 OTU
    61 OTU

Is there at last a book on the training command WW2?

Wishing you a good end of year 2016

    Hi Felix

OTUs were not part of Training Command, they were controlled by the operational Commands

19 OTU - Bomber Command - Kinloss (satellites Forres and Brackla)
    53 OTU - Fighter Command - Heston/Llandow/Kirton-in-Lindsey (satellites - Rhoose and Hibaldstow)
    56 OTU - Fighter Command - Sutton Bridge/Tealing (satellite - Kinnell)
57 OTU - Fighter Command - Hawarden/Eshott (no satellites at Hawarden but used Sealand, Speke and Wrexham. Satellite at Eshott - Boulmer)
    61 OTU - Fighter Command - Heston/Rednal/Keevil (satellite - Montford Bridge)
