    Default Wellington X3351

    Hello,

On 31 December 1942 the Wellington III X3351 KO-T of 115 Sqn RAF took off at 1713 hrs from East Wretham for a Gardening operation. It did not return and the five crew were later reported to be POW.

The above is taken from Chorley's book for 1942. The entry gives no detail about the target area or the loss area. I will be interested by knowing them. I think the ORB for 115 Sqn will at least give the target area, while returning POW questionnaires might have more about the circumstances and area of the loss.

    Thanks in advance

Matin Middlebrook's Bomber Command War Diaries records that 'Biscay ports' was the target area.
