Default Flt. Sgt. W. R. Pairman

Bit of a long-shot, but does anyone have information on one Flt. Sgt. W. R. Pairman who was posted away from 41 Squadron on 26 March 1945?

I have no further information on this chap at all, and cannot obtain any results from the CWGC, LG, Google, Aces High or my AFLs 1960 & 1973. Doesn't strike me as a common name, so has he popped up in anyone else's research, please?

    Thanks
    Steve

    Steve,

One only of this surname in the Oct 46 AFL:

72910 Pairman, J. R. ('released'), but in the Nov 1941 AFL he is recorded as a Fg Off (ASD), dated 26.8.39. So not your man, though possibly related.

No one of this surname served with the RNZAF during WWII, for what it is worth.

    Hello Steve
Just checked the birth indexes for England & Wales 1915 - 1923 and could not find your man.
There were a few Pairman born in Newcastle upon Tyne.
He may have been born in Scotland.
There is a W. Pairman on the 2007 Electrol roll living at Bo'ness Scotland.
    Regards
    Andy

    Thanks Errol and Andy

Thought it would be a long-shot! However, I'm reading from a not-quite-100% focused digital photo of a photocopy of a hand-written logbook entry, so am now beginning to wonder if PAIRMAN is in fact FAIRMAN...?

    Steve
A possible man could be Walter Reginald Fairman Born 27 Nov 1920 at Romford, Essex.
Died Jun 1997 aged 76 at Havering Essex.
His age is consistent with a WW2 fighter pilot.

Just checked AFL Oct 45 and there is only one Fairman listed ( A.G.C. Fairman).
He is a Flying Officer in the Technical Branch.
    Nothing on LG either.

    Thanks for this Andy

Looks promising, so I'll do a little more investigating and see what I can find out.

    Cheers
