    Hi,

    Can anyone please supply details on this young Irish officer, I believe he was killed while ferrying bombers to the Gibraltar.

    Details on circumstances of loss appreciated.

    BCL Middle East and Mediterranean Vol. 1, Gunby & Temple, page 121:

    Wellington 1c Z9098, 1 OADU,
    Delivery flight from Portreath to Gibraltar, fired on by HM Trawler Loch Oskaig after failing to answer a challenge, and crash-landed on the beach at Sisimbra, Portugal. Four killed, two injured.


    The PRONI website has some details from the will calendar:

    Adams, Kenneth Duncan of The Hill Newforge, County Down, pilot officer Royal Air Force, died 25 January 1942 at Cape Espichel Portugal. Administration Belfast 7 December to Patricia Adams the widow. Effects 10211 4s. 9d.
