    CHARNLEY, Ralph - S/Lt(A) - 738 Sqdn - HMS Nightjar - the Lancashire Evening Post of Janaury 12th 1946 reports:

    WOODPLUMPTON OFFICER KILLED
    Sub.-Lieut. Ralph Charnley, aged 22, was killed yesterday when his motorcycyle combination collided with a stationary cattle wagon, at Woodplumton, near Preston.
    Sub-Lieut. Charnley, who was stationed at Inskip Fleet Air Arm Station, was going to his home at the Wheatsheaf Hotel, Woodplumpton. He was permitted to live at home, and travel daily to and from his duty.

    The Gloucester Citizen of January 12th 1946 reports:

    'PLANE HITS WALL
    Two R.A.F. men from Wheeton Aston station, near Birmingham, were killed when their Oxfrod trainer plane crashed in thick mist on a hill at Wildboarclough, Cheshire, on Friday.
    They were Flying Officer G. S. [sic] Oliver, and Flight-Sergt. Bulcock.

    The orb of 180 Squadron (AIR 27/1132) mentions :
    F/L P.Bolter was accidentally killed in a motor accident at Steenokkerzeel. A court of Inquiry was appointed to investigate the cause of the accident.
