    Default Lockheed Hudson Am885 help.(moved)

Hi all. New to the forum so thanks a lot! I am doing a little digging on an RAF crash in Ireland on 16 sept 1943, and apart from any info available on line I have hit a brick wall. Where would I start looking for any photos of the Lockheed Hudson AM885 involved(if they exist)? It served with 301 Ferry training unit at Lyneham. Also photos of the crew pilot John Colhoun(657975), paisley Scotland and navigator Pryce Owen(655407), Penygroes Wales? There is a photo of AJ Chabarra online the third crew member.
    Many thanks.

My website is temporarily offline at the moment but I have been trying so very hard over the past few years to contct the remaining two families.

I will have a new website domain later this week hopefully.

Can I ask your interest in the crash?

I can send you what I have already if you email me at dp_burke@yahoo.com

A photo of the aircraft is probably very unlikely as it was just another Hudson, there would be little reason unless we are very very lucky for anyone to be photographing each and every Hudson (or any other type)

have you contacted me offline in the past?

i have been contacting the nephew and niece of P owens but they fail to reply to anything sadly.

    Are you perhaps William Downes?

I have troed the local papers in Paisley to no avail but I do try them occasionally again. Ive gotten the plot burial details for the family plot. Notified the CWGC that he is not mentioned on any headstone and they will give him a CWGC headstone in due course.

Hi Dennis. No but I know Billy. My only interest is that I grew up hearing tales if this plane and I was just hoping to tell their story in some way. I have your number from Justin Horgan if you wouldnt mind me calling you sometime?

I usually get flustered on the phone, i would much prefer if you email me as I can then send you actual information rather than relying on memory.

Have you got the Irish Army report?
have you got Chabbara's RCAF service file?
have you collected any of the local stories, memories of the crash?
is all you have based largely on my site?

Thanks Dennis. I'll send you an email first chance I get! I would love copies of the Army report and Chabarra's file. I have some local stories and memories of the crash.

The crash report makes for grim reading.

    Greetings!
A little bit of background for Hudson AM885.
This aircraft was assigned to No:53 (Coastal Command) Squadron in 1942 as PZ-G. My father, Flt. Lt. Jack Hubert Stigner, piloted her while in Trinidad on an anti-submarine sweep on 17/09/1942 between 10.50 and 15.55, his crew were Flt.Sgt. Haisell, Flt. Sgt. Diggles and Sgt. Brown, and there was 'nothing to report'.
If anyone should by some miracle find a photo of AM885, I would be most interested in having a copy.
    Beat regards,
    Jonathan
