Default Sunderland accident, Sorvagsvatn, Vaagar (Faroe Islands), December 1942

During early December 1942, a 228 Squadron Sunderland attempting to land on an inland lake (Sorvagsvatn) on the island of Vaagar, sank after striking a submerged rock. The accident occurred during the first week of the month but I don't have the date as the relevant page of the Vaagar ORB is missing. I'd be grateful if anyone can identify the aircraft and date of the accident.

Resolved, I'd been given false information. The incident happened on 6 October when S/228 (T9086) struck a submerged rock whilst taxying for take-off. The aircraft was beached, then assessed as Cat B. Moves were made to repair it on site, but was reclassified as Cat E on 25 Feb, and SOC three days later.
