    It would appear that this is their only operation with 78 Squadron. With the exception of the pilot none of the crew are shown in the ORBs joining the squadron. Horton arrives from 1658 Conversion Unit on the 29 Feb 44, but this is not shown in the Feb ORB it is entered in the March ORB. My assumption is that the rest of the crew also come from there at the same time and they were not recorded at all.

    Horton flies his first op as second pilot on the night of the 15 Mar 44 with Flight Lieutenant Hurley and crew of LV876; their target is Stuttgart which is successfully bombed. There are no entries for any of the crew until the night of the 30 Mar 44 when they are lost. Their take off time is not shown but it would have been between 2200 and 2230.
