    On Monday 21/01/1946 his parents received a letter from him to say that he
    had received his release papers. On the Wednesday, they received news
    that he was dangerously ill and on Sunday, a cablegram to say that he had
    died after an operation in the military hospital at Delhi.

    THOMAS, Wilfred - LAC - 1689964 - the Statutory Deaths Register on the Scotland's People website states that he was found dead 25th January 1946 10.15 a.m. at Photographic Section, R.A.F. Tiree, and the cause of death is given as Asphyxia.
