Default F/Lt. Jack Percival Thompson (ser. no. 77817)

    Hi All,

I am looking for any details regarding F/Lt. Jack Thompson (77817) other than whats on the LG. especially what squadron(s) he was with.

Percy (as I know him) served throughout the war as a pilot and I am aware that he flew 'Mosquito Mk6 fighter bombers with 4 canon and rockets.' Unfortunately although he can remember the aircraft he flew, he cannot remember any of his squadrons since his memory and health are not good.

Possibly some 30 odd squadrons flew the MkVI so I do not reasistically expect any reply to this thread but there is always the off chance the name or number may come up in someones research on an ORB or whatever.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Russ

    Hi Russ

I am intrigued. His entries on the LG state that he was Admin & Special Duties, and then transferred to the Technical Branch (18th Feb 1942) over the course of the war. This implies that he did not fly in an operational squadron (General Duties) but may have been involved in some other way, flying Mossies.
