    Default Foxy question

Can anyone in the forum confirm the location of Fl Lt Leslie Fox (36099) during the period 1943/44? He was a Sunderland/Catalina pilot who appeared in the film Coastal Command and was then posted to Lough Erne flying Catalina. I think I have him at RAF Helensburgh as a test pilot in 1944 but the log entry gives no initial just the name Fox flying Catalina AH 564. Confirmation would be appreciated.|

    many thanks, robin bird

    Hi Robin

He ended up as an Air Commodore so I have an entry for him on my website.

He took over No 203 Sqn in July 1944, having been promoted Temp Wg Cdr on 1 Jul 1944, He had been a Temp Sqn Ldr since 1 Dec 1941 and a Sub Sqn Ldr from 20 Nov 1942 so shouldn't have been listed as a Flt Lt in 1943.

cheers Malcolm, looks like I had a fit, Lough Erne, Catalina, etc, so could be a Fox by another name as the entry does say Flt. Lt Fox. My Fox also flew the first lend lease Mariner JX103 G
