Flg Off Graham (2nd pilot on AN537)

Is F/O John Claude Graham #41174 later W/C and DFC

I found him via an approximation on Border crossing (Canada/US) on Crook and X-Ref 1941 Mar AFC

Plt Off Davis (non-flight deck crew member on AN525).

He may actually be P/O Edward Lynton DAVIES ( 42701)

See following for photo can you compare ???

I cannot find a Davis border crossing in 1941 that matches as a P/O with AFL - But he does

    "Lyn" Edward Lynton Davies.

    BTW

    AN525 F/L Thomas, Sgt Kitson
    James Bayley Protheroe Thomas
    Davis

    Kitson is..

Walter Stanley 'Kit' Kitson DFM #580055 DFM Death of Death 1941-09-29

Wellington Ic R1279 9 Sqn (Start Second tour with 9 Sqn)

quite helpful as indicates that the crew for Ferry flight were experienced on heavy bombers/Multi engine aircraft and probably or a 'rest tour' for ferry duties

    Great stuff, Paul. Thank you.

Part if my challenge is that the photo I have is two penciled names short for the size of the group. Will check with the Air Cadet unit to see if they have a period photo of Davis or can link me with his family.

I'll be looking but if you happen to find a photo of Flg Off Ernest W Tacon that will help better confirm who is in the front and rear rows.

    Update: found portraits of Tacon.

    Hi Paul:

Looking at the print again, it is Davies.

Tacon had quite the career - thanks, Paul.

    A Tacoma newspaper clipping confirms 'E. L Davies' and 'J. C. Graham'.

Following up on research into first names and serial numbers for aircrew involved in ferrying the 20 Fortress Is to the UK, DHH provided a number of assignment cards which yielded some initials but for which I do not have first names or service numbers. These are:

    Sgt Beveridge, C B

    Plt Off McHardy, P G

    Sgt Owen, W K

    Sgt Price, N G

    Flg Off Proctor, J R

    Sgt Symonds, C C

    Sgt Unwin, H D

    Flg Off Wakefield, H K

    Flg Off, Watson G P

    Flg Off Whitting, G G

Timing is April-May 1941 and some would likely have a Coastal Command background. Looking for full first names and service numbers

    Thanks in advance:

    Robert
