Hello Philippe,
Did you mean MM241? NM241 was an Airspeed Oxford.
Robert
Bonsoir,
I beg you pardon. Yes you are right : I think I didn't read the good code : MM 241. I have to correct my database immediatly.
Excuse me
Regards
Philippe
On Nov.18 1944 my father flew an operation to Munster in that aircraft & his logbook records MM241 as Bar S. It was with 109 Squadron, so it would have appeared as HS-S with a bar over the S.
Cheers
Hello,
Mosquito B.IX MM421, also flew with No.105 Sqn., as GB-H - 28-1-1945 (to No.109 Sqn). On 1 February (1945), Duisburg, Ludwigshaven and Mainz were visited and F/O Tom P. Lawrenson and F/O Dudley W. Allen in ML924:C-Bar, accompanied by F/L F. A. Taylor with P/O F. S. Copestake DFM in MM421:H, carried out a 'spoof' on Mannheim, where they dropped one red TI on a Gee release, and then carried on to Stuttgart to do an Oboe run, dropping one 500lb MC bomb and another on Gee.
See: Mosquito Thunder/Scott. pp.174 & 196.
