Default Landing off dublin on day war broke out

Sqd Ldr Monague Cecil Collins was the pilot of Short Sunderland L2158 that landed in Eire waters off Dubin on the day war was declared. He was flying the aircraft to RAF Helensburgh, Scotland, where it was to be used as a trials aircraft. I think he was with the general duties branch of the RAF. I am trying to trace his career during the rest of WW11. Can any members of the forum help?
