    142281 LAC (Cook) Edward John FLETCHER RAAF (of No.1 Personnel Depot, Melbourne), died from the effects of poliomyelitis on 16 February, 1946, in the Queen's Memorial Infectious Diseases Hospital, Fairfield, Victoria.

    LEAVER, Philip Harris - F/O(Pilot) - 54736 - the Wiltshire Times and Trowbridge Advertiser of February 23rd 1946 reported the following:

    FATAL ACCIDENT
    R.A.F. Officer Motor-Cyclist Killed
    There was a fatal motor-cycle accident on the Steeple Aston - trowbridge road last Friday afternoon, when Flying Officer Philip H. Leaver, R.A.F., systained a fractured skull and other serious injuries, and died at Wroughton R.A.F. Hospital on Saturday night. He was driving the motor-cycle, with a colleague as pillion passenger, when the machine went into a spin after striking the verge on the bedn at Aston Hill. First-aid was rendered at the scene of the accident by Nurse Collier and P.C. Gummer, and the injured officer was taken to the R.A.F. camp at Steeple Aston for further attention before being removed to Wroughton by ambulance.
    An inquest was held at Wroughton Hospital, on Monday by the County Coroner (Mr. Harold Dale), and a verdict of "Death by Misadventure" was returned. Flying Officer Leaver's home as in London.

    ROTHWELL, W - Sgt - 974231 - the Aberdeen Press and Journal of February 22nd 1946 carried the followimng announcement:

    Deaths
    ROTHWELL - Died at Oxford Military Hospital (as the result of an accident), Sergeant W. Rothwell, R.A.F., aged 26 years, husband of Nellie Duncan, 12, Queen Street, Rosehearty, and youngest son of Mrs. E. Rothwell, Hindley Green, Wigan. Funeral on Sat., Feb. 23, at 2 p.m., to Pitsligo Churchyard.


    MALAYSIA
    DAVIDSON, Thomas - F/O(Pilot) - 181777
    TURNER, Vincent - F/O(Pilot) - 181801

    The Lancashire Evening Post of March 12th 1946 reported the following:

    BELIEVED KILLED IN INDIA [sic]
    The Air Ministry have notified Mrs. E. Turner, of 42, Fishwick View, Preston, that her second son, Flying Officer Vincent Turner, R.A.F., is missing and believed to have lost his life in an accident on February 15th, while serving in India.
    Message from Air Force H.Q. at Bombay say he and another officer were at a abomb dump when an explosion occurred. Only one idenifiable body was recovered.


    An announcement the previous day is as follows:

    DEATHS
    TURNER - On February 15th, in Malaya, Flying Officer VINCENT TURNER, aged 22 years, second son of Ethel and the late Jospeh Turner, 42 Fishwick View.
