    Default Beaufighter Collision - 1 November 1944

On 1 November 1944 Beaufighter TF.Mk.X serial number NT915 coded Y was airborne from Dallachy at 05:31 with 10 other aircraft from the Squadron on an armed reconnaissance from Obrestadt to Kristiansand. The force was joined by 11 other Beaufighters from 489 Squadron and whilst circling a flame float there was a collision. NT915 collided with aircraft W of 489 Squadron, W was seen to dive into the sea and NT915 disappeared into the darkness trailing smoke.

There were two Australian crew in NT915:
424756 Flying Officer George Hardy De Beauvoir Hammond (Pilot)
428312 Flight Sergeant Gordon Allan Henry (Navigator Wireless)

The undigitised image at the NAA for Hammond show NT915, but for Henry it shows NE433.

Looking for the serial number of 489 Squadron’s aircraft W, whose crew I believe were:
1454822 Flight Sergeant Wilfred Reed Garrison
1800373 Flight Sergeant Thomas Edward Hughes

Could NE433 be Garrison and Hughes’ aircraft?
