    Pilot Officer John Alan ELMS - 142071 - 4 Squadron - believe killed on a training flight on 21 September 1943.
    Looking for details.

    Births Q1 1924 ELMS, John Alan, (MMS Lee), Reg Sheffield 9c 970

    Enlisted 1541650 in Block 1425001-1649900 Various Centres Apr 1941 – Oct 1941

    1541650 LAC John Alan ELMS Cmd (142071) RAFVR(GD) 15 Apr 1943.

    He was probably killed whilst flying in Mustang I, AG526 of No 4 Sqn, which spun into the ground near Amberley in Sussex (Source RAFWEB).

    Elms was flying Mustang AG526 and was engaged in cine camera gun practice it was thought he lost speed making a turn and went into a spin; he crashed 0.5 mile N of Amberley in Sussex.
