Default Post war airman - service number

    Hello gents,

can anyone with access to any post war AFL's please check for a John Buckler please. I know that he was serving with 1 Squadron as a Flight Lieutenant in April 1975 and ejected out of Harrier XV776 on the 9th April 1975. I am trying to establish his service number. I have found a Jonathan Leslie Buckler (608711), but i would like to double check with the Air Force Lists and see if there is more than one John Buckler listed.

    Cheers, Tom

    Hi Tom

Probably no surprise, but he does not appear on the active list of April 1960; you'll need a more recent AFL edition than what I have.

    Tom,

The Autumn 1974 AFL confirms 608711 Buckler, J L, Flt Lt dated 18 Aug 70. He is the only officer listed of this surname.

    Default Martin-Baker

Wonder if he is the same John Buckler employed by Martin-Baker (the ejection-seat people). There is a photo of him on page 7 of their "Escape" newsletter, August 2007 issue. He appears to be about the right age in the photo.
