    Hello Phil

are you refering to the badge with a Kookabura on it, as it is the only badge that I know was approved - although when I have no idea!!?

Description of the Squadron’s Badge: Perched on a branch a kookaburra

    Squadron’s Motto: “Ready to Strike”

A kookaburra is one of the most popular of Australian birds and has a reputation for killing snakes.

What is your interest in 453 squadron please as I hold the unofficial history "Defeat to Victory"

    History and badge also on

If you contact the RAAF museum they might be able to assist and advise when the badge was approved.

    cheers
