Default W/O John Abbott D.F.M. award details?

    Hello everyone

The Newcastle Evening Chronicle of December 4th 1945 reported the investiture ceremony for a number of gallantry award recipients, including the D.F.M. to 'W.O. John Abbott, Bomber Command, of 3, St Helen's Crescent, Kelloe.'

I'm struggling to track down W/O Abbott, and having no idea of the date of the actual award, it's proving a bit tricky! Can anyone help?

    Many thanks.

    Regards

    Simon

Thanks Mark that could well be him.

The surname spelling is unusual, and so I've managed to track down a John Raymond Abbot, born July 11th 1913, registered Auckland, Co. Durham, and died 2004, Darlington, Co. Durham.

    Regards

    Simon
