Default Halifax crash RAF Sandtoft(1667 HCU)

    Hi all
Ive been given by my uncle Les brown, a pair of scissers dated 1943 from a first aid kit from a Halifax that crashed at RAF sandtoft between Nov 4th 1944 and Dec 9th 1944
this Halifax was on charge to 1667 HCU the only RAF unit based at this airfield
Could you check your records and identify this aircraft

    regards

    Hi Dave,

The only crash I have at Sandtoft during the period stated is:

    12.11.44
    H.P. Halifax V LL389 1667 H.C.U. Sandtoft
    P/O P H O’Neill RCAF pilot & his crew ok
Aircraft bounced on landing and on its next bounce the port tyre burst casing the aircraft to swing and the u/c collapsed at Sandtoft

    Hope this helps.
