Thread: FilePhotoService is back in business

    Default FilePhotoService is for sale

In July, I wrote that the file copying service for RAFCommands members was ending; I am glad to say that things have changed and I am able to continue.

Below is the original text, and further down the thread is an update of October 29th.

"For personal reasons, I can no longer carry on the file copying and research activities of FilePhotoService. It has been my pleasure to be involved in helping members of this forum with their research for several years and the need is ongoing so I have decided to put FilePhotoService up for sale. Anyone who is interested in discussing taking on the business, small though it is, please contact me.

    info@filephotoservice.co.uk

It is a rewarding pursuit and I have made friends while learning a lot about subjects new to me. Most contact is with members of RAFCommands and a couple of other serious historical forums and the rewards include kind words from authors who cannot get to Kew or other UK archives in person. It is great to know your work has made a difference and I would of course introduce the new owner to authors and researchers who have used FilePhotoService in their projects.

    Regards,
    Bruce"

Hello Pete and sorry about the delay in replying. I just noticed your post!
I have enjoyed the exchanges with forum members who allowed me to get involved in their research and have certainly picked up a few new strings to my bow as a result (digging deeper into prewar professions comes to mind). I am sorry that I have had to close up shop and hope that someone will fill the void.
Many thanks for the support and the good wishes.

    Regards,
    Bruce

Well, I suppose you are never too old to learn new tricks. Please ignore the previous gloomy news that I posted, and thanks to those who contacted me to wish me well, I am glad to say that FilePhotoService.co.uk is back in business. Please let me know if there are any unanswered requests from any of you, I will try to put right any issues.

So, file copying at TNA for forum members is still discounted, as are digital ORBs. I'm glad to be back.

    Regards,
    Bruce
