    Default RAF Leconfield, 1946

    Hi all,

And yet another query from me i'm afraid...

On the 24th of July 1946, some kind of flying accident occured at, or out of, RAF Leconfield that claimed the life of 1604044 Flt/Sgt Peter Ingram, age 22. I have no other details than that. Can anyone shed any details on the flying acident that killed him?

    Many thanks as always,

    L/O

    Greg

    Greg,

    Greg, from Cummings

Wellington III BJ895 of CGS crashed at Wykeham Abbey, Yorks

    W/O R Harrison
    F/S P Ingram
    W/OJF Armstrong
    F/L JC Haldon
    W/O HC Stiff

The a/c had previously been reported as being substantially nose heavy but was passed as serviceable. It dived into the ground from 9000 feet and was destroyed. F/L Haldon's body was not recovered.
