    Default Catalina P9630 again

To avoid hi-jacking Robin's earlier thread, Arthur Pearcy also states that Catalina P9630 was nicknamed Guba following previous civilian service in New Guinea.

But my transatlantic ferry listing indicates that they were two different aircraft, with the former Guba, ex NC777, being ferried to the UK in October 1940 and becoming 'AM258'... except that this was a Ferry Service Liberator I serial!

    Can anyone untangle this?

Answering my own post, Phil Butler confirms in Air Arsenal North America that these were two different aircraft and that the former NC777 Guba was numbered AM258 in error before becoming G-AGBJ with BOAC. It later became SM706.
