Default Forced landing of 18 OTU aircraft

Whilst researching a Polish pilot I came across a note of him sustaining a lumbar spine injury as the result of a forced landing. This was probably at RAF Bramcote and happened on 8th July 1941. The pilot's name was Wladyslaw Kolakowski. As he was only a month away from joining 304 Squadron, I imagine the aircraft would be a Wellington. Can anyone please help with details of this incident?

    Many thanks
