You can try searching for RAAF names on the NAA site at naa.gov.au:

    https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/Sear...sicSearch.aspx

For example, searching for 422570 gives you A705 - Herbert Bruce Keen, Wellington LN318, May 29th 1944.

424878 - William Kenneth Todd - his file has been digitised and can be viewed online

434208 - Brian Thomas Halligan - his file also digitised

Air 78/177 has 1399011 Edward Robert Yeo.

LN318 has been covered on here before, BTW:

    http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...X-LN-318/page2

    Wellington X - 104 Sqn - MF350 - 20/21/8/44.
Air 78/84 has 1872732 Leonard Percival James

    Wellington X - 150 Sqn - LP505 - 20/21/8/44.
Air 78/125 has 1322937 Hubert Victor Pendleton

    Liberator VI - 178 Sqn - KG938 - 21/8/44
Air 78/105 has 983449 Desmond Charles Matthews

    Regards

It is not the AWM Nominal Roll, the Roll was sponsored, and is supported by, the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA).

    Hello Mojmir,
    Many thanks for the information.
    It is very welcome.
Sadly for some reason I cannot now edit/ update my original post
The offer of names/service numbers would be most welcome.
    Thank you for your help.

    Sgt. J. A. Mitchell

The Long Road by Oliver Clutton-Brock and Raymond Crompton: …James Mitchell was at Luft 7 with Trupp 21.
As Sgt. J. A. Mitchell in the Index of the book.

    https://books.google.cz/books?id=K-f...ell%22&f=false

    Ross McNeill’s list of PoW:

Luft 7, 474, J. A. Mitchell 1567016 (AIR 78: James Archibald Mitchell) Is it him?
The second J. A. Mitchell 1512446 in the list is probably James Alfred Mitchell 1812446.

    (AIR 78: 19 James A. Mitchells together)

    Hello,

I find a question in regard to SPEERS, John William.
In this thread his service number is given as -
    R163096 ( J.63412 ).
However in the archive in a post to his nephew(?) his service number is said to have been -
J/26691 and his POW number as 4238 at Camp L3 Sagan & Belarus.
So his correct service number was ?

    Alex
