Default Fighter Escort to Bomber Command 18th October 1944

    Hi,

Like to know what Mustang's squadron, either RAF or Yank provided fighter escort to a raid on Bonn on the above date, also the withdrawal cover by Spitfires, were they 11 Group or 2nd TAF squadrons.

    Any help really appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi Steve

The RAF Mustangs were 19, 65 and 122 Sqns (150 Wing); 306, 315 and 129 Sqns (133 Wing) and 234 Sqn. I don't know about Spitfire sqns or USAAF sqns.

Usually, such Spitfire escorts were from 11 Group.
