Default Sgt./Flight Eng. Philip Dicerbo, RAF

    Help please!
I'm trying to find the circumstances of the death of PHILIP DICERBO – age 19 – Sergeant/Flight Engineer (1825388) 582 Squadron, Bomber Command.
He died on 25 July 1944 and is buried in Moffat Cemetery in Dumfriesshire.
He was a son of Antonio and Pasqualina Dicerbo who came to the town in the 1920's.
I cannot find him in any of my usual sources (aircrewremembered - for example) and I don't think there were any other losses in the Squadron on that date.

    Thank you for that Col.
As a complete aside, Philip's parents opened a chip shop "The Moffat Chippy" which is still in business and back in 2010 the Daily Record had an article on Phillip's sister, Bettina, who at the age of 90 was still serving in the shop.
"Bettina sold her first supper in Moffat, Dumfries-shire, way back in 1936, when she started helping her mum and dad behind the counter of the family shop.
And apart from a stint in a munitions factory during World War II, she’s been a fixture of The Moffat Chippy ever since."
