Default Telecommunications Flying Unit RAF Defford at the end of WW2

    Hello All,
Does anybody know where I can see an organisational “wiring diagram” of the Telecommunications Flying Unit at RAF Defford at the end of WW2 and in the immediate post-war period? FT&SU 1912+ (Sturtivant/Hamlin) only appears to split it into 2 Sqns during WW2. It then underwent a number of title (and function?) changes post-war. Grateful for any pointers.
    TIA
    Peter Davies

    Hi Peter,

Not 100% sure what you are after but there is a kind of family tree of Defford in WH Sleigh (HMSO 1988) Aircraft for Airborne Radar Development.......labelled "Diagram of primary line of authority over the aircraft department attached to the radar establishment, and its internal structure".
Also lists of CO s and Heads of departments.
    regards
    Peter

    Peter, Hi,
Tks yr prompt reply. Sounds like just the sort of thing I'm looking for. I shall be off to my local library to get them to get me a copy - although these days there seem to be fewer librarians therein and more 'dalek-like' issue/return book machines!! I shall have to practice my metallic sounding voice!!
    Tks again
