    Hi Robert
There are likely to have been several 251 Sqn a/c that carried the Code AD-Z and not necessarily all Hudsons as the Sqn used at one time or another also Venturas, Ansons, Fortresses and Warwicks, during it's time at Reyjkavik. The Serials will be different as the code on each a/c would have lasted only as long the a/c was on the Sqn strength whereas the serial would last the life of the a/c and if it moved to another Unit it would drop the AD- code and take on another, appropriate to the new unit. It might be possible to pinpoint an individual a/c with the code, if a particular time period was involved, when a look at the ORB could have that info together with a serial.

    Hi Dick:
Good point. Would have been after May 3, 1945 if that helps.

    Hi Robert
You still need someone with the ORB,which I don't have access to, it still makes a Hudson possible but they also had Ansons and Fortresses. The Warwick wasn't there until Aug '45. This comes from Jefford's- RAF Squadrons.

    Hi Robert,

Have you tried Peter Rackliff - not sure how much he's kept from his research, but he might be able to assist. I think you have his address.
