    Default Diverted P51 Mustangs December 10th 1944

    Hi,

Another long shot here, hopefully with a better result.

On December 10th 1944 RAF Chedburgh received three Yank P51 Mustangs between 12:55 - 13:02 hours who were diverted. The first P51 broke every rule in the book in that it did not contact the control tower and came into land almost colliding with a Avro Lancaster on its final approach. The second P51 overshot the landing and ended in a field.

Trying to identify the P51 Group

    Any pointers welcome.

    TIA

    Hello Steve

On the assumption one of the P51 may have been damaged when it overshot, hopefully you might get a clue from this link http://www.accident-report.com/world...uk/uk4412.html

    Kind regards
