    I found in Bayeux the grave of the sub-lieutenant (A) JOHNS, Ioan Pryce
    H.M.S. Blackcap
    Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve
    died on 07 March 1943
    Does anyone have any information why is he buried in Bayeux?

    Ray Sturtivant's Fleet Air Arm Aircraft 1939 to 1945, page 94, has him lost on Swordfish II DK701:

    833 Sqn ('B'), ditched off Trouville on minelaying operation, Cat. Z, 7.3.43 (S/L I. P. Johns killed; S/L P. J. Matther & L/A G. F. Hutchinson both PoW).
