    Hi Alain,

    F/O. (Pilot) Krawczyk, Stanislaw, P/1347
    Sgt. (Copilot) Czekalski, Waclaw
    F/O. (Obs) Szkuta, Alojzy
    Sgt. (Wop/Ag/Ba) Siadecki, Edward
    P/O. (Wop/AG) Rowicki, Kazimierz
    Sgt. (RG) Czarnecki, L. P/781566

The aircraft, Wellington Z8599 of 305 Sqn, had engine trouble after a Flak hit. The pilot ordered the crew to bale out. One did not have a chute. The pilot gave him his, and crashlanded the aircraft on his own. He was decorated with the Virtuti Military, 5th class, for this remarkable action. He was killed on 01-11-1942 with Wellington R1716. Sgt. Czarnecki was taken POW, all four others evaded captivity.
