Default Help with identifying two pilots

    Hi all,

Away from my files and home at the moment. Looking to ID two pilots of 218 Squadron circa late 1944. Both were pilot officers, J Eyles and I Kench, both were RAF.

    Any help pointers most welcome.

    Kind regards

With those surnames they ought to be easily found by Serial number here

    http://www.rafcommands.com/reference...r-force-lists/

Then google the surname and serial to find them in LG

    Hi Dennis,

I have tried, but I must be doing something wrong, and I cannot open all the files. Thanks anyway.

    Kind regards

    Steve,

Perhaps 437135 F/O Robert Harold Kench, RAAF? Pilot of NG330. KIA on No. 218 Sqn 31/12/1944.

Steve, The following from the LG, may be of use:
    RAFVR, GD Branch
LAC apt to a commn as a PO wef 28 Jun 44
    1609737 Joseph Arthur Eyles (177298)
    FO w/s wef 28 Dec 44
There were not many Eyles with the initial "J" commissioned in the RAF during the latter part of the war.
    Regards, Terry
