Default Pilot Officer Richard Gordon Sutherland, R.C.A.F. J/3727, No. 616 Squadron

    Hello

On 2 June 1941, this pilot hit a tree while landing at Westhampnett, and was wounded in the spine, enough to take him off operations for nearly 3 months.

What was the serial number of the Spitfire he was flying that day ? (not recorded in the Squadron's ORB)

He was killed in action on 27th September 1941, flying Spitfire Vb W3334. Is the individual letter of that Spitfire known ?

Thanks in advance for your help

    Joss
