Died at Boscombe EMS Hospital, after collapsing unconscious earlier in the day while playing cricket at Bournemouth, and is buried at Brookwood, Woking, Surrey.
Navigator: NZ405363 Flt Lt Bruce BEECHEY, RNZAF - Age 27. 1093hrs.
Beechey originally enlisted in 1940 as an observer and later flew nearly 100 ops with 233 Sqn, RAF. In May 1944 he remustered as a pilot, but never flew operationally as such. His posting to Holmsley South was for navigation duties.
