Once the school holidays start in a week's time.....HOOOOOOORAY!!!! I'll happily jump on my motorcycle and bimble over to Hampreston, about 40 miles away, to take a photo of your Norman Hart's grave.

    Aw, shucks ...

    :-)

Got some pics - will try to e-mail them over later or tomorrow. They're not brilliant as the headstone is a bit worn and grubby, and the sunlight was coming from behind it. But one of them might do if I can't get any better ones at an earlier time of day with the sun in a different position.

    Hi JJG
I was going to offer to photograph Sgt Allen's headstone for you but wasn't sure when I could make it. It's also not very easy to get there from where I live so I welcome Peter's offer! I checked the CWGC site and found that his first names are given as Albert JAMES rather than Albert Thomas but the date of death and service no are the same so it must be him. The grave is in Section 12 (Nonconformist) of the cemetery, grave no 1241. You probably know how big the cemetery is, Peter, so a check on the CWGC website would be a good idea before you go. There is a map so you can find out the location of Sec 12. Good hunting!
