Default 1949 RAF AM to identify

    Gents
This photo has been taken in 1949, and shows an Air Marshall of the RAF on a visit to Pakistan. I have a description that says the man is Sir John Slessor, but the person on the picture does not look like him to me. Any idea, who the man is?

    Hi Franek

To me he appears to be an Air Chief Marshal and between Jan-Jul 1949 there were only three: -

Sir John Slessor - he was Commandant of Imperial Defence College but was due to take over as CAS on 1 Jan 1950, so seems likely that he could be touring RAF/Overseas units prior to taking over.
Sir Charles Medhurst (Head of BJSM, Washington)
Sir James Robb (it's definitely not him)

    Hi Malcolm
Thanks, and it leaves Slessor as the only choice, then. Apparently he got some flesh since the war. He was in Pakistan, indeed, in around October 1949.
