Default John Graham CAMERON RAAF 5327.

    Hi All,
I am looking for information on the above Aussie pilot who flew with 158 Sqn on their last two Ops of the war in April 1945.
Prior to this he did one Op with 77 Sqn as a second pilot. There is a note it may have been in June 44 but that seems too early. Anyone who may have the OBRís for 77 Sqn who could have a look and let me know I would be grateful.

    Regards,

    John.

    Hi John,

His A9300 has been digitized at the NAA.

    https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/Sear...aspx?B=5380100

Shows him at No. 158 Sqn wef 14 April 1945 and No. 466 Sqn wef 26 May 1945.

No sign of any service on No. 77 Squadron. From 2/44 until 11/44 he's shown as being at No. 22 EFTS, No. 15 (P) AFU, No. 21 OTU and No. 14 Base.

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Hello,

Cameron was attached to No.77 Sqn on 18 September, 1943, (from 50 Group/22 EFTS), he moved on to RAF Elvington on 19 September, 1943, and in less than a week he had returned to 22 EFTS (instructing). (see: A9300, p.19 of 53). He was posted in to 158 Sqn (from 1652 HCU) on 14 April, 1945 (along with the rest of his crew). You'll find his form at 466(RAAF) Sqn, here: https://466and462squadrons.com/CrewOps/CameronJG.html

Cameron had a younger brother, 10402 James Alan CAMERON DFC RAAF, who served a tour on 156 Sqn near the end of the war. He took part in the obliteration of Heligoland on 18 April, 1945.

    Thanks everyone,

Still a bit of mystery he enlisted in 1939 and only did his ops in 1945.

    John.
