I assume you know he had served with B.O.A.C.? He was fined for importing currency without declaring it in August 1941, as reported in the Manchester Evening News on August 7th 1941, in which he is described a 'former first officer with British Airways Corporation.' It also states that he 'had served in the present war until released for Britsh Airways Corporation.'
In early 1937 he was at North Weald, as he was nicked for speeding and fined £1, as reported in the Chelmsford Chronicle, March 12th 1937.
