It's an Auxiliary Balloon Squadron. Based at Mansfield Road, Hook, Surbiton, Surrey, not Hook in Hampshire.

Thank you Simon. I'm a newcomer to this site trying to research my dad's service history. I've got his Service record but as you can imagine, there are a number of units and abbreviations that don't mean much to me. May I send you a copy so that you could decipher it for me?

To be honest deciphering Service Records is not my area of expertise - actually I'm not sure what my area of expertise is, or indeed if I have one!

If you post the unitsand abbreviations you're stuck with on here, I'm absolutely sure those more knowledgeable than me will be able to help.
