    Default Sgt. H.S. Chappell (1819696) - 9 Squadron

The above was one of 2 survivors of Lancaster LL787 lost on the Mailly Le Camp raid on 03/04 May 1944. He evaded his report no is WO 208 3349 481. Can anyone give me any details of it. Secondly from the RCAF Air Bomber's service record the crew seems to have joined 9 Squadron on 24/03/1944. The monthly summary confirms the officers but doesn't mention the NCOs Warren (1391942) Chappell and Wilkinson (2209695) if they joined on the same date. Could anyone give me a summary of their short career with 9 Squadron. TIA

Hi John, Henry Chappell was my grandad. Unfortunately he passed away 02/02/18.

I may be able to help with some information as he left a large amount of detail behind.
Please email me and I will try to help...

    thanks
    Matthew
