Default Air Cdre Denis FINLAY CBE

Born in 1912, as the younger brother of Olympian Gp Capt Donald Osborne Finlay DFC AFC, Denis joined the RAF as an apprentice in 1927, was selected for cadetship at Cranwell in Aug 1931, and commissioned in July 1933. I have his pre-war postings sorted, so no concerns there. However, I'm having some trouble establishing many of his postings after becoming Group Navigation Officer of 17 Training Group in Nov 1940.

    • I am seeking his postings from 1941 to 1943
    • He was OC, 608 Sqn, Dec 1943-Jul 1944, but I cannot establish the exact dates
    • I am seeking his postings from Jul 1944 to ca Oct 1946
    • He was Deputy Commandant of Empire Air Navigation School at Shawbury from at least 31 Oct 1946-9 May 1948 (Does anyone know the exact date?)
    • He was Station Commander at RAF Fayid, Egypt from at least Oct 1952-Nov 1954 (Does anyone know the exact dates?)
    • Lastly, he died in Spain on 18 Oct 2001, but can anyone establish the location in Spain?

Any assistance with the above queries would be appreciated
