    Hi Henk
Coyle(?Coyte),40, Darler,42, Fortescue,29, are all registered at Sheppey,N Kent on the Thames Estuary and right for 952 Balloon Sqn but a long way from Manchester(925 Sqn). Pluckrose,37, is registered at Essex S W. which covers parts of the E End of London in the NE corner, Statham ,25, is registered at Hereford.
Coyte didn't come up on the death register but I see he is on CWGC as a member of 952 Sqn.
    Regards
    Dick

Typo Dick for Coyte, he too was 952 (Balloon) Sqn in lieu of 925 Sqn.

    Henk.

I would like to add the following death in India - for which I do not have any details

BIKRAM LAL, Pilot Officer, Age 25 06-Jan-41, Royal Indian Air Force
Son of Dr. Paras Ram, of Lahore, Pakistan.
DELHI / KARACHI 1939-1945 WAR MEMORIALS
    CWGC URL No 2575169

    ------------

I would assume this is a training casuality at FTS Risalpur or at SFTS Ambala as no Sqdn details are given in CWGC

Just a small correction - the IAF did not become the RIAF until March 1945.

    Errol,

I am always confused as to the correct terminology - I suspect that the prefix Royal was applied retrocactive to the KIA by CWGC and the RAF. the CWGC lists all indian kia as RIAF.

Even the runnymede memorial lists the Indian casualities of 1941 as "RIAF"

But would welcome more inputs on this.

    Hello

Cpl Henry E. FORTESCUE - 843166 - the National Probate Calendar records that he died at Thames Estuary, Sheerness.

AC1 John A. PLUCKROSE - 845814 - the National Probate Calendar records that he died at the Jubilee Hospital, Woodford, Essex. A family tree on ancestry.co.uk records that he was killed by an enemy mine striking a house at Matson, Woodford Green, at 10.30 p.m.

    Regards

    Simon
