Default G/C J. Cottle, DFC, MBE

I have a Group Captain J. Cottle, DFC, MBE, taking command of the RAF Ferry Command unit at Gander in April 1942. I'm assuming that this is WWI RFC pilot Sidney Joseph "Jack" Cottle, but I'd rather not assume! Can anyone confirm? Checked the Gazette and Flight magazine but no luck, although his name does surface. Tks,

    Darrell

The 1919 RAF Air Force List has him Cottle, J., DFC, as Lt/Act Capt. There's also an entry for him in Above The Trenches as a WWI ace. So yes, one and the same as the Ferry Command man.
